Abstract

A new species of anamorphic basidiomycetous yeasts, Rhodotorula pinalis, was isolated from needle litter of Pinus sylvestris L. collected in Moscow oblast (Russia). The cultures are nonpigmented; nitrate- and myo-inositol-positive, forming no ballistoconidia.
