Abstract
The method of polyphasic taxonomy was successfully used for more precise definition of the taxonomic position of the fungi of the subgenus Penicillium isolated from various poorly studied and new habitats. It has been proposed to change the species name for the strains synthesizing the respective secondary marker metabolites.
