Lithopetrographic characteristics and oil-generating potential of the sedimentary petroliferous complex in the White Tiger field

Abstract

Study of the lithopetrographic composition and oil-generating potential of the Lower Oligocene and Miocene rocks from the sedimentary cover in the petroliferous area of the White Tiger field showed that they are characterized by a high degree of HC potential realization. Therefore, we can assume that the Oligocene-Miocene section of the Kyulong Depression can contain rocks with the oil-generating capacity. Regional caprocks create favorable prerequisites for the discovery of new commercial petroleum pools in the study area.
