TUNGSTEN PEROXOPOLYOXO COMPLEXES– PROMISING CATALYSTS FOR OXIDATION OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS. II. STRUCTURE OF THE [(n-Oct)3NME]3{PO4[WO(O2)2]4} COMPLEX FROM THE SMALL-ANGLE X-RAY SCATTERING DATA

  • Published:
Journal of Structural Chemistry Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

By small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) solutions of the [(n-Oct)3NMe]3{PO4[WO(O2)2]4} peroxopolyoxo complex are studied using 13 different organic solvents. In solutions of heptane, cyclohexane, and diethyl ether, the peroxo complex is shown to form large aggregates. In a number of other solvents tested, the complex is present as individual molecules in the solution. The size of the molecules is 14.5±1.2 Å. Structural parameters of the complex are found, and a low resolution model of the structure is proposed.
