TWO NEW Co(II)-BASED COORDINATION POLYMERS: CRYSTAL STRUCTURES AND TREATMENT ACTIVITY ON ACUTE BACTERIAL SINUSITIS BY INHIBITING MRSA BACTERIAL GROWTH

Abstract

Two new coordination complexes formulated as [Co(pbib)2(SO4)] (1) and [Cd(ppda)(pbib)(H2O)] (2, H2ppda = 1,4-phenylene-diacetic acid, pbib = 1,4-bis(1-imidazoly)benzene) are successfully prepared by a reaction of the pbib ligand with different metal salts and organic carboxylate ligands under the solvothermal reaction conditions. Furthermore, the treatment effect of compounds 1 and 2 on acute bacterial sinusitis (ABS) in vitro and in vivo is evaluated. Firstly, after treating with compounds 1 and 2, the bacterial growth curves of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are measured. Moreover, the ELISA detection kit is applied after treatment with the compound to determine the inflammatory cytokines concentration in the blood.
