CONCENTRATION CONVECTION OF COLLOIDAL SUSPENSION IN A SPHERICAL CAVITY

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

A problem of concentration convection resulting from sedimentation in a spherical cavity is solved numerically. It is shown that the flow is formed due to the inhomogeneity of the concentration near the surface and has the form of two tori, while convection accelerates the separation of the mixture.
