Compression solitons of two types in crystals with the Lennard-Jones interatomic interaction potential

Abstract

It has been shown that soliton compression waves with one and two density maxima are generated in crystals with the Lennard-Jones interatomic interaction potential. An original procedure starting with the low-amplitude wings of solitons, where the harmonic approximation is applicable for inhomogeneous waves, is used to reconstruct the amplitude dependence of the waves.
