Parameters of traps essential for thermoluminescent dating of archaeological ceramics

  • Published:
Inorganic Materials Aims and scope

Abstract

We have studied parameters of traps produced in archaeological ceramics from the excavation Ust’-Tara XXVIII, Omsk oblast, by ionizing radiation. The results demonstrate the possibility of thermoluminescent dating with the use of both medium- and high-temperature peaks (t = 250–265 and 320–325°C). We have determined the carrier lifetimes at each trap in a certain temperature range of interest for thermoluminescent dating.
