Preparation and properties of electrets based on iodine-intercalated InSe and GaSe

Abstract

We have studied the properties of iodine-intercalated GaSe and InSe layered crystals and showed that the intercalated materials can be used to prepare electrets. Thermally stimulated discharge spectra of electrochemically intercalated GaSe and InSe have been measured. The spectra and a model with a single relaxation frequency of dipoles have been used to determine their activation energy. The composition dependence of the electret voltage has been explained. The photoresponse of GaSeI x and InSeI x electrets has been measured using a monochromatic beam propagating along their crystallographic axis C.
