Abstract
The effect of corona discharge on the initiation of detonation in a shock tube was studied. The dependence of the wave propagation velocity of the combustion reaction of a propane-butane mixture at different stoichiometric ratios on the amount of admixed nitrogen was measured. It was concluded that the corona initiation of detonation is more effective than the conventional spark initiation.
