A New Subspecies of the Ground-Beetle Calosoma (Callisthenes) elegans (Kirsch, 1859) from China (Coleoptera, Carabidae)

Abstract

A new subspecies, Calosoma (Callisthenes) elegans gongliuense subsp. n., is described from Gongliu County, Wutu Vill. (Xinjiang-Uygur Autonomous Region of China). This taxon is distinct from the neighboring C. elegans rostislavi Semenov, 1906 and C. elegans kashense Kabak, 2022, first of all, in having bright coppery or greenish metallic luster of dorsum. The photographs of habitus and median lobe of aedeagus of the new taxon are given.
