Abstract
Thirteen species of leaf beetles of the genus Colaspoides Laporte are described as new to science: Colaspoides cameronensis sp. n., C. asarovi sp. n., C. nikandrovitshi sp. n., C. pahangensis sp. n. from the Malay Peninsula, and Colaspoides aeneoviridis sp. n., C. borneomontana sp. n., C. bruneiensis sp. n., C. metallactus sp. n., C. costipennis sp. n., C. gunungensis sp. n., C. latipalpis sp. n., C. paraviolacea sp. n., and C. vityukovae sp. n. from the island of Borneo. New keys are proposed for the species complexes of C. cognata Baly, 1867 and C. cognatella L. Medvedev, 2004, C. borneomontana sp. n., and C. viridimarginata Baly, 1867.
Notes
Flowers (2018) has noted that the type species and other Neotropical members of the genus Colaspoides have no groove on the pygidium; therefore, all the Asian species described as Colaspoides should be transferred to a different genus. The name for this genus may be the next senior synonym, Amasia Chapuis, 1874, or Dematochroma Baly, 1864, should the latter be merged with Amasia (C.A.M. Reid, pers. comm.). In this paper, we preserve the old name for the Asian species.
