Abstract

A new species, Corimalia tadzhika Zherikhin et Korotyaev sp. n., is described from the lower mountain belt of southern Tajikistan. The new species is very similar to C. fausti (Reitter), but may be easily distinguished by the long semi-erect pubescence of black hairs on the inner face of hind tibia in the both sexes and by the structure of the male genitalia.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

The material of the new species was collected by the junior author in the course of the field research in Tajikistan on the invitation by Kh.A. Nasreddinov. The authors are deeply grateful to Mrs. Levanova (Institute of Botany, Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat), who identified in the 1980th the host plant of C. tadzhika, as well as to K.V. Makarov (Moscow State Pedagogical University) and G.E. Davidian (All-Russia Institute of Plant Protection, St. Petersburg–Pushkin) for making photographs of beetles of the new species. The second author cordially thanks M.A. Alonzo-Zarazaga (Madrid, Spain) for corrections of the English translation of this paper.
