Abstract
The shore fly genus Setacera is reviewed. It includes 5 species in Russian fauna. Diagnoses of the genus and species are represented; a key to the species is given. One species, S. trina, is new to the fauna of Russia, while S. aurata formerly considered a European species has been found in western Siberia for the first time. The Holarctic S. micans previously recorded only in the European part of Russia has also been recorded from Eastern Siberia and Kamchatka. The distribution range of S. freidbergi is extended. In addition to Israel, Iran, and Russia (Caucasus), this species has been found in Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan for the first time.
