Abstract

The antlion Mesonemurus mongolicus Hölzel, 1970 is described for the first time for the Republic of Buryatia, where it occurs in drift sands. All the specimens were identified based on a single feature persistent in both sexes in the known populations of M. mongolicus, the presence of a wide brown spot between the antennae, which is not known in any other congener.
