Abstract
Sclerites and muscles of the ovipositor in the tephritid fly Campiglossa plantaginis (Haliday, 1833), with phytophagous larvae developing in inflorescences of Aster tripolium L. and other Asteraceae, were examined. Structural adaptations of the ovipositor, providing oviposition into different substrates, are discussed in relation to different trophic specialization of larvae.
