Abstract
An illustrated morphological description of Poroliodes farinosus at different developmental stages is given. The surface of the prodorsum is reticulate; the surface of the notogaster, folded. The notogaster is strongly narrowed caudally; in nymph I and all the subsequent stages, it is concealed by central-dorsal parts of exuvia, and all the dorsal setae are reduced. Trichobothria are present at all the stages. Lamellar setae and setae h 3, located on either side of the larval anal aperture, are absent in nymph I and subsequent stages. The larva possesses 9 pairs of notogastral setae, nymphs and adult, 5 pairs. By contrast to the majority of oribatid mites, leg IV chaetom formula is 0-1-0-2-7, and not 0-0-0-0-7.
