New data on systematics of leafhoppers of the genus Macropsidus (Homoptera, Cicadellidae, Macropsinae)

Abstract

The following synonymy in the genus Macropsidus is established: M. duuschulus Dlabola, 1965 = M. albinervis Vilbaste, 1965, syn. n. = M. rigidus Mityaev, 1971, syn. n.; M. vallaris Dlabola, 1963 = M. montanus Lukjanova, 1992, syn. n. Illustrated descriptions and data on the distribution of the species studied are given. The differences between M. duuschulus and the closely related M. arenicola Emeljanov, 1971 are considered. M. kopetdagicus Tishetshkin, sp. n. from the western Kopet-Dagh Mt. Range (Turkmenistan) is described. M. demavendinus Dlabola, 1974 from Iran is identified on the basis of re-examination of the paratypes.
