Abstract
The effect of tert-butyl alcohol ((CH3)3COH) on the dynamic states of collagen I macromolecules in the bovine Achilles tendon has been studied for the first time using 1H NMR spectroscopy. It appears that exposure (CH3)3COH can cause changes in the mobility of the CH2 groups in the macromolecules due to interactions between the aqueous subsystem and collagen macromolecules. The interactions are most strongly manifested during the phase transition in the (CH3)3COH/H2O system.
