Abstract
Peroxiredoxin 6 is an enzyme that protects against cellular damage caused by peroxides and participates in phospholipid metabolism in cell membranes depending on its location. It has also been shown that peroxiredoxin 6 forms cation channels in lipid bilayer membranes. In this study, the relative selectivity of these channels for monovalent and divalent cations was evaluated. The ratio of cation selectivity was found to be \({{P}_{{{\text{C}}{{{\text{a}}}^{{2 + }}}}}}{\kern 1pt} :{{P}_{{\text{K}}}} + {{P}_{{{\text{N}}{{{\text{a}}}^{ + }}}}}\) = 8.5 : 5.0 : 1.0.
