Abstract

The structure and magnetic parameters of a series of nitroxyl and iminoxyl radicals differing in the position of the P atom with respect to the radical center were established by EPR. Free radicals were obtained in chemical and electrochemical reactions and also through UV irradiation with the use of spin traps. The phosphononitroxyls and phosphonoiminoxyls have proved quite sensitive to the milieu and temperature, which makes them promising spin labels for biological objects.
