Abstract
The values of the characteristics of ice-cover leads in the Laptev and East Siberian Seas calculated from satellite images with spatial resolution of 250, 375, and 500 m are compared. It is shown that the modal orientation of leads practically does not depend on the spatial resolution of images. It is established that there is a good relationship between the values of spatial density of leads calculated from the data of images of different resolutions. Regression equations that allow estimating the values of the specific extent of leads with a width equal to or greater than 250 m from images with lower spatial resolution are obtained.
