Abstract
If N atoms simultaneously interact with quasiresonant classical and quasiresonant quantized fields, the modes exchange photons. This processes exhibits cooperative properties, i.e., the number of photons in the quantized mode oscillates, and the amplitude of these oscillations is proportional to N 2.
