Generation of autonomous long-lived plasma objects in free atmosphere

Abstract

Results are presented from experimental studies of autonomous long-lived plasma objects in free atmosphere with a visible afterglow lasting 2 s. The experimental setup is described, and the energy conditions ensuring the generation of such plasma objects are determined.
