Abstract
The formation of a new commensurate phase with a dimensionless wave number q = 1/3 in an [N(CH3)4]2CuCl4 crystal under the action of an external electric field is analyzed theoretically. The phase diagram is constructed on a plane specified by two coefficients of the thermodynamic potential in the presence and in the absence of an external electric field.
