Quasielastic triton knockout from 6Li and 7Li nuclei by intermediate-energy pions

Abstract

Quasielastic triton knockout from 6Li and 7Li nuclei by negative pions with momenta p 0=0.72 and 0.88 GeV/c was studied in the region of backward pion-triton scattering. The experiment was performed at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics (ITEP, Moscow) on a 3-m magnetic spectrometer equipped with spark chambers. The momentum distributions of the intranuclear quasitriton motion and the excitation-energy spectra of residual nuclei were obtained.
