Predetonation conductivity of a TATB-based explosive

Abstract

We have measured the electric conductivity of a low-sensitivity TATB-based explosive compressed by a shock wave. The results confirm the hypothesis that subthreshold shock waves induce the transition of crystalline explosives into a semiconductor state.
