Abstract

It is experimentally shown that, in addition to fast relaxation, a slow relaxation process controlled by vacancy diffusion contributes to the high-temperature heat capacity C p of tungsten. To account for the existence of contributions from two relaxation processes to C p, it is suggested to consider the finite time required for the equilibrium density of transient complexes to set in.
