Abstract

Potassium aluminosilicate phosphate glass with the composition 30% K2O-20% Al2O3-50% P2O5 (wt %) activated by tetravalent vanadium ions was synthesized and characterized with respect to physicochemical properties, including room temperature luminescence and absorption spectra. Based on the electronic absorption spectra, it is concluded that the glass contains oxovanadium ions.
