Abstract

The results of experiments with n-octane and n-decane show that effective chemical degradation of hydrocarbons in a process of the thermal cracking type under the action of pulsed heating and high pressure in the cavitation region is possible in the presence of a strong electric field (E>10 kV/cm) and aqueous electrolyte solutions supplied to the cavitation region at a controlled rate.
