Abstract
Phase trajectories of a nonlinear system of the electromagnetic field-waveguide type are studied in the vicinity of singular points. Solutions for the field components near these points are obtained. It is shown that an optical vortex appears at a singular point, the Poynting vector of which exhibits precession around this point.
