Abstract

Receiving electroacoustic transducers with sensing elements made of an elastic piezoelectric composite material are described. The parameters of a composite material that exhibits a bulk piezoelectric effect are presented. Results obtained by measuring the turbulent noise in a hydrodynamic channel with the use of piezoelectric composite receivers are reported. The results are compared with those of the noise measurements by a miniature piezoceramic receiver and are considered in the light of the known models of near-wall turbulence.
