Abstract
The effect of the periodic shear in the ultrasonic range on a homeotropically oriented layer in a nematic liquid crystal has been studied. The formation of a vortex lattice whose points are the centers of autowaves is established. The formation and stability of the vortex lattice are shown to be related to the processes of synchronization of spatial oscillators (autowave centers) and their interactions, as well as to the processes of self-organization.
