Abstract
A method to identify entities by means of tags is suggested. The tags are represented by sets of unstable periodic orbits that form the framework of a chaotic attractor. The method is applied to asynchronous packet data transmission from a number of users over a shared channel. Experimental transmission of two musical signals is reported.
