Instability growth rate of a charged interface between immiscible electrically conducting liquids

Abstract

It is shown by means of a numerical analysis of the dispersion equation that two types of aperiodic instability may occur at a charged planar interface between two viscous incompressible immiscible electrically conducting liquids, for which the growth rates increase or decrease, respectively as the conductivity ratio of the media increases.
