Wave number dependence of the critical conditions for instability of a charged liquid film in a fluctuational force field

Abstract

It is shown that the critical conditions for instability of the charged free surface of a liquid film with a fixed thickness d in the region where the influence of fluctuational forces is substantial (d<100 nm) depend strongly on the wave number and do not depend on the viscosity of the liquid.
