Abstract

The effect of optical activity, the piezoelectric effect, and energy redistribution between light beams on the visibility of an interference pattern is investigated in the case of a twowave interaction in an optically active cubic piezoelectric crystal. It is shown that the modulation of the visibility of the holographic grating substantially changes the output characteristics of a hologram.
