A new fiber acoustic laser-energy detector

Abstract

A novel detector capable of measuring the energy of pulsed laser radiation coupled into an optical fiber and the acoustic signals induced by interaction between this radiation and matter is described. Results of a study of the capabilities of this optoacoustic detector are presented.
