Abstract
The propagation of a microwave pulse in a ferrite thin film-substrate structure in a regime of rereflections (“ringing”) of the acoustic component of the substrate is studied theoretically. It is shown that as a result of the interaction of microwave pulses with the boundaries of the substrate, propagation of a microwave excitation in this system can be regarded as a propagation of a wave packet in a periodic nonuniform medium. The basic characteristics of a propagating wave packet are obtained.
