Metamagnetism in Jahn-Teller magnets

Abstract

Metamagnetism is possible in Jahn-Teller magnetic systems, which include giant-magnetoresistance manganites, as a result of both spin-phonon interaction and the influence on spin exchange due to Jahn-Teller ordering of the electron orbits.
