Combined stripline and microstrip filters combining a bandpass filter with stepped-impedance resonators and one or two low-pass filters are considered. Special features of the frequency characteristics of these two kinds of filters, which form the basis of this combination, are revealed. It is confirmed experimentally that, in combined planar filters, wide rejection bands exceeding a decade are provided.
