Electrical conductivity and dielectric permittivity of Bi5Nb3 − 3x M3x O15 − δ (M = Cr, Cu, Ni) solid solutions

Abstract

Bi5Nb3 − 3x M3x O15 − δ (M — Cr, Cu, Ni) (M = Cr, Cu, Ni) layered perovskite-like solid solutions have been prepared by solid-state reactions. Increasing the solute content of the solid solutions gives rise to solute-dependent monoclinic distortion of their tetragonal cell. The electrical conductivity and dielectric permittivity of the Bi5Nb3 − 3x M3x O15 − δ solid solutions and bismuth niobate, Bi5Nb3O15, have been measured at temperatures from 300 to 750 K and frequencies from 1 to 200 kHz.
