  3. Bifilar gages are available from both Measurements Group (www.measurementsgroup.com) and BLH (www.blh.com). Bifilar gages are actually two gages stacked one on top of the other and wired in series. The excitation current flows through the lower gage in a clockwise direction and through the upper gage in a counterclockwise direction. This arrangements forces the gage effective area and number of turns to be zero, minimizing the noise level by design.
