Conclusion

The test system is suitable to perform both the open-loop and closed-loop tests for the ceramic material even when system noise exists. However, when there is very little displacement to be measured, the noise becomes a problem. Based on the previous measurement and analysis of system noise, further improvement of the testing system can be made by increasing the system’s stiffness and fixing the whole system on a more solid foundation. These changes will subsequently suppress most of the mechanical noise. Another way to minimize the effect of electrical noise is to amplify the sampling signals. Furthermore, a high-precision filter and a well-designed compensator will be very useful for a closed-loop control system.
