Dr Charles E. Gannon is a Distinguished Professor of English (St Bonaventure University) and a Fulbright Senior Specialist in American Literature and Culture. His most recent academic book (Rumors of War and Infernal Machines: Technomilitary Agenda Setting in American and British Speculative Fiction [Liverpool: Liverpool University]) is in its second edition and won the 2006 American Library Association Award for Outstanding Text. He has been a Fulbright Fellow at Liverpool University, Palacky University and the University of Dundee, and has published various works on fiction, technology, and political influence. His degrees include a BA from Brown University, an MS from Syracuse University, and both an MA and a PhD from Fordham University. Prior to his academic career, he worked eight years as a scriptwriter and producer in New York City, where his credits included programs for the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and The President’s Council on Physical Fitness. He continues to publish both commercial non-fiction and fiction.
