Abstract
Rhizoctonia patches in 0.25 ha of a barley crop sown after three cultivations of a sandy soil at Nhill, Victoria accounted for 13.2% of the mapped area. Within patches, disease severity was twice and yield half that of plants sampled adjacent to patches. On this basis, yield loss for the whole crop was estimated to be at least 6.8%.
