Root rot of cowpeas caused by Pythium myriotylum in northern Queensland

Abstract

Pythium myriotylum was isolated from soil from under cowpeas (Vigna sinensis) grown as green manure crops in fallow sugarcane fields in northern Queensland. In pathogenicity tests, P. myriotylum severely restricted root and top growth of cowpeas.
