Abstract

Celery mosaic potyvirus (CeMV) was found in Victoria in 1996 in celery (Apium graveolens L.) and has become epidemic in the major celery producing district causing major crop losses to the Victorian celery industry. Recently CeMV was also found in parsley (Petroselinum crispum (Miller)), coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) and carrot (Daucus carota L.). This is the first report in Australia of CeMV naturally infecting carrots.
