Welcoming address to participants at the 17th annual Environmental Criminology and Crime Analysis symposium, Anchorage, Alaska

Abstract

In this welcoming address on 24 July 2008 to participants of the 17th annual Environmental Criminology and Crime Analysis symposium, held at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Chief Rob Heun of the Anchorage Police Department discussed the link between environmental criminology and police practice. This speech highlights the utility of environmental concepts and theories as they relate to practical problem solving and responses of local police.
