Abstract
In light of the movement toward cultural competence in psychotherapy, psychological matters of race and culture have assumed greater attention among psychodynamic scholars. Despite these contributions, the literature is dominated by an adult orientation. This paper seeks to bring human diversity into the realm of child psychodynamic treatment by focusing on racial and cultural themes as a topic of therapeutic interest.
